But why are they only shown as International numbers and also only shown in International +44 format with no 0 before the UK part of the number (so making Jo Bloggs think he can't call them) when they are in fact just Geographic Numbers that anyone can use.
It seems to me the Inland Revenue is still clinging to the myth that 0845 is "local" for uk callers Surely this is the next high level question to be raised with HMRC's management and/or our MPs?
Don't forget that after Febryary 2008 0870 will cost the same as 01/02 number and be part of unlimited 01/02 call plans but thanks to Ofcom 0845 numbers will not.
