I have a big problem in my bank account and they have told me at my branch that I have to call Halifax head office in Birmingham. I've tried to find the addresss but I can't, the only thing they gave me was this number

0845 6000718

Its going to take some tim to sort out so I dont want to call that number plus this is not my fault it's thier mistake

They do seem to have regional offices, so certain branches come under a particular regional head office, one of which is in Birmingham. They once told me the Leicester branches come under the "Newcastle" office (presumably -under-Lyme, but knowing illogical Halifax, it wouldn't surprise me if it's -upon-Tyne).

I can't find that particular 0845 number anywhere. There are lots of entries for Halifax on 192.com. They also own Birmingham Midshires, which has its office in Birmingham.

At the bottom of the Birmingham Midshires homepage it says "Birmingham Midshires is a division of Halifax plc..."

The contact page gives a PO Box:

I have just tried this one 01422 380880 which puts you through to the switchboard and you just need to ask for BM savings.

This number is listed on the database, the other number doesn't work.

01902 302800 is now unobtainable and was "Savings for British Gas" (0845 6098952)
01902 302801 /02 /09 /888 were for the mortgage contact centre but are now unobtainable
01902 302832 is now unobtainable and was listed as alternative for Savings & Investments
01902 302833 has redirection message for "Collection Team" on 0845 6032652

The number we had for switchboard, 01902 508000, has a recording (which is aimed at internal callers) saying that you have dialled 0 and that switchboard is on 7583 33333. Perhaps this number goes through to another switchboard elsewhere. We do have reception which is 01902 302001.

A number of 0845 and 0800 numbers now are either not recognised or have recordings giving new 0845 numbers.

According to the Wikipedia article, it became a division of Bank of Scotland Plc in 2007.

If they have moved, then the best alternative we have at the moment is Halifax's switchboard number, 01422 380880. At least they will put you through.
