The difficulty here is that, although
Ebico, (
Equigas and
Equipower) have an 0800 sales number, they do not actually deal with the bills - their sub-contractors (the energy suppliers) do.
The 0845 number you were given was, therefore, for the sub-contracted company.
I found out when I changed to them that my gas and electrcity were to be supplied by Southern Electric (Ebico appear to have arrangements with various mainstream suppliers depending on the area) and, comparing their websites, it is quite obvious that my previous supplier (
Atlantic) did as well!
You will have guessed by now that the number you were given was for
Southern Electric.
