I particularly like the idea of stating 'no 0870'. If more people did this (including 'no 0845') it would register in peoples brains that these are negative things whereas currently they think they are cheap.

The  MD of Trailfinders is on public record as saying he refuses to use these numbers as he considers them a ripoff.

He is not alone.  Plenty of other companies still avoid the 084/7 scam.  All Halfords stores, all Toyota dealers, all branches of Nationwide Building Society, all John Lewis department stores and MBNA credit cards to name a few of the larger and more notable abstainers from the great 084/7 con.

But thanks to OfCoN who said it was going to call 0871 numbers Premium Rate it is now secretly proposing that the Premium Rate Regulator ICSTIS will not have to use the same symbol or wording for 0871 number users and it is now proposing to allow 0871 numbers at 10p per minute at all times to be called Business Rate!!!!  This will be like a green light to every business in the UK to start using these 0871 scam numbers.

The overpaid senior staff of Ofcom do not live in the real world but in the world of licking the backsides of senior telecoms executives to allow them to create ever more profitable scam schemes in the hope that the senior Ofcom staff will get even better paid jobs with those companies in a couple of years time.  The senior staff of Ofcom are a total disgrace and  let us hope that come the glorious 084/7 revolution they will all be fired and forced into the soup kitchens where they will learn what it is like to have to call 087 numbers on a mobile at 35p per minute and not have a £100,000 salary and an Ofcom provided mobile to cover the cost of the calls.
