TelXL are "missed call" scammers, and were previously investigated by Ofcom in 2005.
If anyone can supply any geographic number for these many people would be grateful.

08700679834

Company address either

   Highfield House

If you look using Google, with the following number layouts, you'll find a lot more information about these scammers !

08700 670 670, 08700 670 672  and  08700 679834

TelXL Limited - Logging on to their website allows you to try to sign in to their system.
Note btw the additional email address there !   Roll Eyes

I tried nigel@telxl.com then amused myself bringing up the security alert to see if it the constant alerts will annoy them as much as they annoy me !

Since posting this I trawled through Google results and found a link to an XLS file on Ofcom's site, which listed 371 addresses and telephone numbers of Telecom service providers. Not sure if it should have been caught by google, but it included Mr Paul Gallini's personal mobile number, and since he refused to give me a geographic number alternative for the scam number, here are the details I found.

TelXL Ltd,
Mr Paul Gallini,

This number is listed on BT Directory Enquiries for Mr Gallini and that address looks to be his home one (as it's listed under Residential Numbers). It is listed as a telephone number on BT DQs and that is the only number listed for that address, so may well be a telephone number as well as fax.

A quick search on companies house website confirms this address
TELXL LIMITED
HIGHFIELD HOUSE
1562 STRATFORD ROAD HALL GREEN
BIRMINGHAM
WEST MIDLANDS B28 9HA

and shows this company used to be called

SEEFF PROPERTIES LIMITED

which is odd. I will search for more info on that one. May be a red herring.

Been Missed Call scammed by 08700 679 834 or similar? Phone the director Paul Gallini on his mobile 07*** ******, or Nigel Fox at home on 01** *******
to complain !!

That's odd because Mr Gallini replied "Yes" when I asked "do you run TelXL?", unless I'm very much mistaken.

Hi,

If you have a problem with a telecoms service, you are right to complain.  You are also right to look up the telco who has the phone number in question registered, get in touch with them through the normal channels and give details of the calls you've been receiving.

A telco is obliged to investigate such enquiries.  In general, this involved the telco in question contacting their clients, who in turn contact their resellers who actually use the numbers and run the services.  You don't phone the CEO of BT because someone on a BT phone in Basingstoke has a broken fax machine that keeps calling you, for example.

If you call TelXL on 08700 670 670, speak to the nice person who answers the phone, leave details of the calls you've experienced, they WILL look into it and try to help you.  Give us details such as the dates and times of the calls, the number they dialled, the CLI that was shown and so on.  I know this, as I work for TelXL and these people are my friends and collegues.

However, if you go out of your way to cause irritation to these people, and phone them out fo hours, phone them at home, shout at their family members, you will be doing yourselves no favours at all. This is what you, or at least some of you, have been doing and I'm appalled by it.  Can you say that you did try normal channels first, and can you tell me what the resolution to your enquiry was?

I would like to ask the MODERATOR here to remove the home phone numbers and addresses on this page.  You're causing needless heartache to people who can't help you with telecoms related isuses.

Glen

Hi LanHamster (aka Glen Monks),

It has been decided to remove personal details as requested.  I'd like to point out that these details were freely obtained from various public domain sources on the internet such as BT & 192 Directory Enquiries, Ofcom's website, Google, etc.

Let's deal in facts:-
  • TelXL has had several various investigations by Ofcom and were found guilty of several things, the latest was only closed in April this year (more info here).
  • A lot of missed calls, etc (different numbers like 08x, personal 070 numbers) are allocated to TelXL and a google search reveals this can be seen as a common thing.  ie. you, as a communication provider, don't appear to take adequate steps to ensure compliance with relevant requlations.
  • These missed calls, if called back, are earning the company that makes them and yourselves money so it could be said that you have no interest in ensuring compliance with regulations hence why Ofcom have investigated yourselves a few times in the past and you were found guilty also.
  • You ask us to report such problems by ringing you on your 0870 numbers.  As you are no doubt aware, these numbers are a form of stealth premium rate number because you actually earn money from us calling you to report missed calls, etc. and under Ofcom regulations any of your customers using Automated Calling Equipment (ACE), etc. are not able to leave a 0870 number on CLI's.  If you took our concerns seriously (ie. the constant missed calls, etc from numbers allocated to yourselves) then you would issue us with a geographical number at the very least and not expect us to ring you so that you can earn money at our misfortune (ie. your customers leaving missed calls and other general contraventions of Ofcom regulations) in the hope that we ring back which you and the company that called us can earn money from.

Because of the above, we suggest that if anyone suffers from missed calls, etc. from a number allocated to TelXL, that this is just reported to OFCOM for further investigation, instead of ringing TelXL on their stealth premium rate number.
You can also find some assistance at the Information Commissioner's Office website.

Thank you DaveM.

I would like to reiterate that if anyone receives a lot of missed calls, etc from a stealth premium rate number (084x, 087x) which was originally allocated to TelXL, that you complain to Ofcom directly and not TelXL who would like you to ring them so they, TelXL, can gain money from the call just so you can report those annoying missed calls/messages, etc.
