Techsonic (Tevion)

Looking for a geographical number for the electronics company Tevion as my newly purchased PVR, which would be marvellous if it worked perfectly does not do so. Am loath to retunr it to vendor who will not be able to replace as it was a quantity limited offer so looking for a replacement, need to talk to helpline who only have 0870 number cantact details Sad

After years of ignoring govt. guidelines & RIPPING OFF Council Tax payers using 0845 numbers, Essex County Council changed to 0345 numbers on 2 November 2015

Has this "newly purchased" device fallen off the back of a lorry by any chance? The "quantity limited offer" bit presumably means that the "vendor" deals from the local boozer. Roll Eyes

I say this because you say that you have no contact details other than the 0870 number, so I guess you don't have the instructions which will likely as not contain a postal address as well as a website and/or an email address.  Huh

Or why not take it back to Aldi? Where presumably it came from. You get a one year consumer warranty.

The Tevion PVR's are identical to Technosonic ones (also sold by Aldi),  Goodmans (sold by Argos and B&Q) and also Bush models sold by Tesco.  They are all made by a company called Technosonic.

There are lots of discussions about them here http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=90 where you will no doubt find your bugs mentioned.

There is a software update due in early December. Keep an eye on this page http://www.dtg.org.uk/retailer/download_schedule.pl for updates to all types of digital terestrial receivers.  you will see an update to your machine is due between 8th and 9th December.

Try updating the software first and see if it fixes the problem.

What most people seem to be doing is keeping the unit in the hope that software updates will fix the problems, safe in the knowledge that if not you can still take it back within a year for a refund.

Search the archives of that forum above, I am sure they published some technical support details.

Thanks to all Had already sussed that the machine was a techsonic having seen a number of the online web forums. Like many others I am going to wiat for the software upgrade, if that does not work then it is back to Aldi not as someone suggested to the pub to talk to the man running behind the lorry! The instruction book provided only the 0870 number
