Does anyone know the belfast number for Channel 4 Viewer Enquiries? 0207 306 8333 still works for now - but it soon will not.
As a result, I contacted them this afternoon to ask which number they were really on.
I pointed out to them that now they are on Sky Digital in Ireland on channel 142 and previously, viewers in Ireland could call them and not watch them - they can now watch them and not call them - at least they won't be able to once the 0207 number ceases.
Does anyone know the number of the Belfat Bureau switchboard or any number at Belfast Bureau? This may give a clue - but I also pointed out to them that it is now more expensive to call them than it has been for the past two years.
Here is the reply to the e-mail they sent me earlier today. If anyone can help please get in touch:

Dear James,
0845 numbers are known as 'lo call' numbers and are a fairer alternative to actual local numbers, as they cost no more than 4p per minute from BT lines (mobiles and others vary) from anywhere in the United Kingdom. The Channel 4 Viewer Enquiries number available on our website is the only number available to viewers.
I am afraid that Channel 4 is not available in the Republic of Ireland via satellite. Our licence and broadcast rights agreements restricts our transmission to within the UK area only. Although it is true that some cable operators do supply it - this is via what we classify as 'gratuitous' reception as cable technology is not able to restrict transmission by area in the same way that satellite can. So I am afraid that whilst these restrictions are in place Channel 4 will remain unavailable, sorry.
