Skype introduce Connection charge
Jan 19th, 2007 at 6:12pm

Skype have just introduced a connection charge  of 3.9 euro cents for Skype Out calls.

The opposition are quick to latch on this opportunity to promote their cheaper service.

Well this really shows how Ofcom totally deregulating BT call charges and line rental has increased competition in the marketplace and lowered call prices doesn't it. Huh Roll Eyes

Now in addition to 0870 we even have a hidden scam charges most callers won't be aware of and that isn't announced to them when making regular phone calls.  And Ofcom and all the rest of them simply follow my leader with BT.

Well done Ofcom you really are a big help to the citizen consumer aren't you. Roll Eyes Angry Cry Cry Cry

NGM, sometimes your fervour for attacking Ofcom is over the top.

They don't control foreign companies.

Are you sure you posted on the right thread?

Is this offer still running Trubster?

With Tesco's Club Card Extra scheme you can then exchange those Clubcard Vouchers for admission to attractions that normally cost four times the price like Legoland, Alton Towers, Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures.  My excuse is a 3 year old nephew and 7 year old niece.  So £10 paid for internet phone becomes £160 of admission to Alton Towers etc and you still have the £10 of internet phone left on top?  Or was this in fact done as a Tesco Moneycard rather than as true Clubcard vouchers?

I wasn't aware of that facility so thanks for mentioning it.  So you get more than the delivery refunded effectively by getting £10 of Clubcard vouchers that are worth £40 of Clubcard Extra deals?  There are only so many deals like the RAC etc that actually look any use to take up though?

This has now diverted from its original path, so perhaps a Tescos category should be made. But I'm here now, so here's my little bit.

Looks like there is no good incentive available for signing up to Tesco Internet Phone, which is run by NTL.  (See below.)
For £49.97 they give you an IPA1000 adaptor + £5 credit against call charges.
Anyone know if this adaptor can be unlocked, and is it any good. http://buy.tescointernetphone.com/

This is worth a read http://www.the-scream.co.uk/forums/t18979.html

NTL Internet Ltd
Caradog House,        (I know Tesco is Online House, but look in the links from the Google search given)
Cleppa Park
Newport, Gwent NP10 8UG,

UNITED KINGDOM

Do they also have an internet phone deal where you can use your own ATA or Voip phone equipment though without a minimum contract?  Perhaps this is the one Trubster went for?
