The number in the archive 0161 205 8849 is operational, but does not accept anonymous / withheld numbers. So it works at least. Perhaps it is still theirs.
Piglet.
Be aware that a lot of limo operators are working outside of the law in what is currently a grey area as far as authorites are concerned. Regulation 3 (2) of the Road Traffic Act declares that any vehicle constructed to carry in excess of 8 passengers in addition to the driver may considered to be a bus.
The law decrees that if a vehicle is operated commercially for the carriage of passengers, and that the number of passenger seats in the vehicle is 9 +, then the vehicle must have an operators licence, and the driver must be qualified to drive a bus ie at least a PCV licence.
Failure to comply with the above would revoke the insurance, if it was involved in an accident.
Only one company over here makes / reconstructs limos to the UK spec. I hope your choice of vehicle is one.
Most councils will not licence an imported left hand drive vehicle as a taxi / private hire because it does not meet the specs for taxis. V.O.S.A don't like them because they often do not have belts, and at the rate of one belt per seat, you can then tell how many seats it actually has, not how many it can carry. And they also don't meet the construction requirements, including crash safety.
Most of the Police forces, Manchester area being quite prominent in that, often do weekend purges in towns, stopping the limos for reasons given.
Don't ask me why illegal companies are allowed to operate like this. Blame the beaurocracy.
AT NO POINT AM I SAYING YOUR CHOICE OF COMPANY IS ROGUE, HOWEVER, YOU NEED TO BE AWARE. IF THEY ARE GENUINE THEN THEY WILL FULLY SUPPORT LICENSING, AND HAVE THE PAPERWORK AVAILABLE.
