Natwest Credit Card Services
Mar 20th, 2007 at 8:27am

I received a letter from Natwest Credit Card Services that stated that as I had not used my card for some time my account would be closed unless I called 0870 ******* to request continuation of my account. Not happy so phoned Natwest customer services on their freephone number to complain. Stated would put me through but then waited over 10 minuites. Tried again when the helpful girl said we are not a switchboard-ring yourself. A phone call to Royal Bank of Scotland Head Office (geo number) finally produced a result-they would get Card Services to ring me which they duly did within about 5 minuites. Lady I spoke to said she agreed we me about calling the 0870 number (and also advised me about the Say no to 0870 website!) and advised me that she had been informed that many customers were now objecting to using 0870, and when the current contract expired with she believed cable & wireless the number would be changed. I thought that perhaps it would be changed to a new 03 range-how naive! She stated she had been told it would change to 0845-Local rate of course! Only speculation at this time but will be interesting to see developments
