My friend, some more info on Telco would help...i for one don`t know who or what they are? It saves time (and a few shillings)for those of us who can do a few searches and then post up what we find.
With respect, Rod

There have been a few landline numbers posted that are the equivalent of the 118 number.
0161 Nine Five 0ne Zero Zero One Seven  still works, and this is the matching number for 118333 from the 3 group.
In case the companies are monitoring this forum with search bots, please do not write the directory enquiry number numerically

dont get me wrong, i agree with the no 8070 campaign... but if you dont use the 118 numbers, how do you expect them to stay in business and keep providing you results? Its not like they make money any other way!

"Calls cost 14p per minute billed by the second with a 59p connection charge for all directory enquiries, network charges may vary."
That's 118247.
To get one number is going to cost at least 73p or more if they can't find it straight away, or if they give to a group of people whose first language is not english.
Good scam that. Charge ridiculous rates for cheap labour, then have the call ongoing because that same cheap labour doesn't understand.

Plus the over the top call connection/forwarding fee.

Assuming they're good at the job.
You could get an average of 1.5 calls per min @ 73p = £65.70p per hour.
Pay the worker £8 per hour (Yeah right! But I was being generous. The firm wouldn't) leaves £58.70 per hour to run a computer with a copy of UK Info in it.

Someone want to join me in setting up a Directory enquiries number?

The number ending in One Seven doesn't work.  Is there a alternative number for this?

Thanks

Why not use the internet because it is free, instant, and you can amend your searches etc??
