07000 - Local Rate?
May 10th, 2007 at 1:34pm

Found these details on a poster at a motorway service station.

"For a top class service and unbeatable value.

Visit www.autonational.co.uk

Or call us on 07000 999 991 today (local call)

Equity"

End quote

I always understood that 070 was premium

0700 0xx xxxx numbers are charged by BT at 'd' rate:

d - Calls to Personal Numbering Services 16.71p/minute peak, 9.85p/minute evenings and weekends.

Hardly 'local rate' (although that term has been meaningless since 1/7/04, I'd take that to be 3p connection + 3p/minute peak or 5½p for up to an hour at any other time).

I notice the website has an 0845 number..

In any case, if you have more details on the poster, (take a photo next time you see it?) report it to the ASA .... http://www.asa.org.uk/asa/how_to_complain/

The problem is that the poster is placed above a urinal in the gents loo.
I've noticed that cameras are not normally welcome in such situations. Grin

You've noticed?

Does that mean you've taken a camera into such a location yourself in the past?

Got news for you.
Some phones have built in cameras.
Pity I can't prove it. Nowhere to post.
