Complinet Training - Online training London based
Jul 31st, 2007 at 10:26am

I am trying to find the alternate number for 0870 042 6400 or Client Support (!) on 0870 042 6410.

The Company is :-

Complinet Training is registered at :

Vintners Place, 68 Upper Thames Street, London EC4V 3BJ

They provide online training services but only offer 0870 numbers to their clients who have paid handsomely for the "service".  I've done some searches but it seems fairly well hidden although might be a variation of 0207 429 933? .  Not confident enough to post this as alternative without verification.

Help please - many thanks.

The number VeryNiceMan quoted no longer works.

Being in Central London the underlying geog number for Complinet will be 0207 xxx xxxx

I am not sure how Cheshire got as far as 0207 429 933x?

In tried to follow the method Dave described in connection with the Shrewsbury Town FC thread but only got as far as establishing that the 0870 042 64xx numbers are provided by Telecoms World plc. Dave, how does one proceed from here and being in Central London is it a case of looking for a needle in the haystack?

I remembered the 0207 429 933? number as it was a reply number from a staff member at Complinet but not entirely sure I have remembered the last digit correctly.  I don't know of course if they were calling from their own offices at the time.   It may have been 9330 but seems to be on some kind of voicemail/divert permanently at the moment.  I don't recognise the voice recording.  I HAVE tried asking Complinet but they say they only have an 0870 number but then they would - wouldn't they!

Thanks, Cheshire

You need to search the Ofcom National Numbering Scheme list for the 0200 - 0290 range. Unfortunately, it seems that Telecoms World do not own any geographic numbers in that range. This suggests that they just "lease out" (for want of a better word) 0870 numbers and link them to other providers. This will definitely be a needle in a haystack job!

192.com still returns the above fax number (020 8246 4111) so perhaps they have just moved their switchboard number to another number. I guess it is going to be a case of searching around Smiley.

A quick Google returned this number as contact at Complinet - 020 7429 9302. Maybe you weren't so far out with your last lot of digits. I wonder if the switchboard would be 020 7429 9300 then?

Do they have lots of 0870 numbers of the form 0870 042 64xx ?

If not, then replacing the last couple of digits may not work because they simply wanted memorable 0870s to point to a couple/few 020 numbers.

If they do have loads, then maybe, 0870 042 64**=020 7429 93**  Undecided

It was 020 7429 9302 actually, and I got it by Googling "complinet+020". It was about a third of the way down - [PDF]
Authorised CPD providers: Banking law
. It gives a number for someone called Mr R Credland at Complinet and that number.

Indeed, it seems we are there - 0207 429 9300 does connect to Complinet although not the Client Support desk which is as they insist 0870 ....    I think I may request formally whether they wish me to use 0207 429 9300 or another number (not 0870).  If I get nothing sensible back, perhaps I should post this as the alternate number?

You've all been great - thanks.

Perhaps you could try 0207 429 9400 - another number in that range was suggested as a contact for Complinet? Otherwise, you might just have to try some of the number in the 93xx range and see if you can find Client Support.

The support number(s) is likely to be 020 7429 93?? or 94?? and possibly 95?? (if they go that high). It's not 96?? because these numbers are used by Chambers Travel.

The best way to find the 020 alternative is to try out of hours, when there's no one in the office. If you call the 0870 (briefly!) during the evening or whenever you're going to do the search, and note how many rings it takes to answer and what it answers with. If it rings out unanswered, then there's little chance of finding it.

If it answers with an answering service with an automated message that gives the extension number, then you're lucky and can probably fit the last few digits of the extension number onto the 020 prefix we know. However, if it answers with a recording, remember the recording and go through their 020 numbers until you find it. Ideally, you will need to be on an inclusive call package to do this, else you'll be charged for each call to each 020 number.

You only need hang on as long as (best slightly longer) than it took to answer the 0870. Most importantly, make a note of what you find, then if you need to go back, you can do and won't have to do it all again. For example, note down which are faxes, which are voicemail services and therefore NOT the ones you're after. This might help eliminate numbers should you not be successful. I suggest you do it on your computer as something like a Word document.

An example is:

Quote:
Complinet Training

www.complinet.com

General enquiries: 0870 042 6400
Client support: 0870 042 6410

Key
# Fax
@ Answerphone/Voicemail
€ Rings unanswered
x Number unobtainable

020 7439 9xxx

300 @ (as 0870 042 6400)
301 #
302 €
303 @

This is just an example how I do it, and not what I found having tried it!

Make sure you withhold your number! It's useful if you have a phone that you can program numbers into. One with a display helps because you can see what number you've dialled.

I would program in 141020743993. Then press the button I stored it under followed by the last two digits. When 93??s are done, re-program the speed dial button.

This one was actually quite easy to find.

Firstly using the number given above (020 7429 9300) and whilst attempting to contact a valid member of staff (obtained separately), I was passed to the reception on
020 7429 9200
. They in turn passed me to the staff member & I got the information I needed (for my business) and also confirmed the number you wanted. Roll Eyes
