Indeed, it seems we are there - 0207 429 9300 does connect to Complinet although not the Client Support desk which is as they insist 0870 ....
The support number(s) is likely to be 020 7429 93?? or 94?? and possibly 95?? (if they go that high). It's not 96?? because these numbers are used by
Chambers Travel.
The best way to find the 020 alternative is to try out of hours, when there's no one in the office. If you call the 0870 (briefly!) during the evening or whenever you're going to do the search, and note how many rings it takes to answer and what it answers with. If it rings out unanswered, then there's little chance of finding it.
If it answers with an answering service with an automated message that gives the extension number, then you're lucky and can probably fit the last few digits of the extension number onto the 020 prefix we know. However, if it answers with a recording, remember the recording and go through their 020 numbers until you find it. Ideally, you will need to be on an inclusive call package to do this, else you'll be charged for each call to each 020 number.
You only need hang on as long as (best slightly longer) than it took to answer the 0870. Most importantly, make a note of what you find, then if you need to go back, you can do and won't have to do it all again. For example, note down which are faxes, which are voicemail services and therefore NOT the ones you're after. This might help eliminate numbers should you not be successful. I suggest you do it on your computer as something like a Word document.
An example is:
Quote:Complinet Training
www.complinet.comGeneral enquiries: 0870 042 6400
Client support: 0870 042 6410
Key
# Fax
@ Answerphone/Voicemail
€ Rings unanswered
x Number unobtainable
020 7439 9xxx
300 @ (as 0870 042 6400)
301 #
302 €
303 @
This is just an example how I do it, and not what I found having tried it!
Make sure you withhold your number! It's useful if you have a phone that you can program numbers into. One with a display helps because you can see what number you've dialled.
I would program in
141020743993. Then press the button I stored it under followed by the last two digits. When 93??s are done, re-program the speed dial button.
