Now that Capital Gold and Classic Gold have merged they have a new phone-in number  0871 22 22 515.  Who is going to be first to find the geographical number  Wink

An address where they are broadcasting from may give us a fighting chance.  Roll Eyes

There are numbers already for Classic Gold and Capital Gold in the database. What is the 0871 number for? I thought that this was a collection of stations that, as many stations do these days, are networked at certain times.

Is the 0871 for one particular station (assuming that they broadcast different programmes)?

I guess that they may well be broadcasting from the London studios, and there is a number for Capital Gold in the database (unverified): 020 74841548

The majority of the programmes are networked  (12pm - 4pm M-F) is local.  The network programmes come from Leicester Square.

I have just tried the 020 7484 1548 number you gave, and someone did answer "Gold".  I didn't hang on to make sure it is a request line, but at least it is the station.

And the moral of this story is . . . .

Don't call them on the 0871 number and send them an email saying why you're not using it.

When they get the message with people NOT using it, they will have to change won't they ??  Undecided

Some hope!   I suspect the majority of their listeners don't use this service.  LBC although only in London, also use an 0870 number.   It makes them money!

I contacted Ralph Bernard, Chief Executive of GCap Media, about this and the offending text has been removed. It now states calls costs correctly.

What did the offending text say, and where was it published?

On the schedule, at the end of the blurb for each programme, it said "Call Gold on 0871 22 22 515 (national rate)". This has now been removed.

And on the contact page it stated "Call the studio on 0845 35 60 70 80. Calls are charged at national rate." This has now been changed to the 0871 number with a message about 10p/min from BT landlines and that other networks may vary.
