An address and corresponding 08** number would have been helpful

2nd Floor, Elizabeth House
St Mary's Road
HINCKLEY
LE10 1EQ
Tel.: 0870 120 2401
Fax: 01455 615632
Minicom: 01455 615632
Email: hinckleycab@supanet.com

Now we have something to work with.

Isn't Minicom a telephone system for the hard of hearing?

Yep, although it's closer to a brand name.. "textphone" is a bit more generic, and you'll see that more often these days.

See Wikipedia for more info, and some pictures..

Sometimes, especially in very small outfits like most CABs, you find that the same number is used for answering normal and textphone calls - the operator at the end connecting the device as appropriate.  In a pinch, you may get some milage by phoning it directly to see what happens, though I'd not recommend this in general as you may be blocking the only line that deaf users can access the service on.

The 01455 615 632 number does work. I tried it just now and someone answered "Citizens advice"  Smiley

Out of hours it may well be switched to automatic fax reception or Minicom, so try it when the office is open.

Minicom....,ahh yes, we have one which is seldom used as my partner is Deaf. Just type in what you wish to say & hope that the message gets through ok 'word for word'.
It served the purpose at the time but is sometimes complicated to say the least as the rescipients of the message can be somewhat shy due to using a 'third party' communication.
Hope this helps to clarify.  Smiley
