Do you mean because O2 is now charging for the calls? I doubt it, although there was another post on it recently. You should have been notified a month in advance before the contract change, and I believe you are entitled to cancel without charge if you feel the change is not in your best interest. I'm no lawyer though so you'll have to read the T&Cs thoroughly and see if you are entitled to.

http://www.o2.co.uk/assets/O2HybridNav/Static-files/PDFs/newcontract.pdf
Quote:
8.4 You may end this Agreement by giving us written notice if:
....
(c) you are a Consumer Customer and we increase charges for calls, messages or
data that form part of your inclusive allowance or your Line Rental Charges or
change this Agreement to your significant disadvantage in accordance with
paragraph 9.2 of the General Terms, provided you give us a minimum of 30 days’
written notice (and provided you notify us within one month of our telling you
about the changes). This does not apply where the increase or change relates solely
to Additional Services in which case you may cancel, or stop using, that Additional
Service.

So yes, but get your notice in quick..

Getting out of a minimum term contract depends on you informing o2 that you wish to cancel the contract as o2 have significantly (and to your detriment) changed the t&c of the contract by excluding 084/087 numbers and this is done within one month (normally) of receiving o2's notice.

If I remember correctly the notice was given more than a month ago so it could well be too late now but you can try.

"Official" notice was given to O2 contract customers on the 22nd August (well, for me anyway). We are still in the 30 day period until the 22nd September then (the change coming in on the 28th).

I'm no legal expert, but I think you should write to them giving notice to cancel your contract under term 8.4 (c). Quote the paragraph and explain why this applies, i.e. exclusion of 0844 calls from inclusive minutes and state the date of the letter they sent you. That way, they can't argue that you are outside the 30 days.

This will form an unambiguous statement of why the contract is being terminated. Perhaps you could visit your local Citizen's Advice Bureau or ask a solicitor to confirm what I am saying.

21st August, 15.40, for me - I still have the text.

I imagine they will have taken a few days to send them out to everyone so as not to overload the system...

TBH, I'm not sure i got them inclusive anyway!  I was on an old BT Genie tariff, and only got 01/02 and O2 mobile calls included..
