Trafficmaster
Sep 2nd, 2007 at 6:15pm

I'm a happy man right now, having stumbled on a non-geo alternative in what a place.... my 3 Mobile bill.

RAC's traffic number (1740) is shown as 01234 757074. It worked from my 3 mobile and was taken as a landline call, having just tried it.

Hope this helps someone, but its made me smile after a naff day Cheesy

Information on O2 Traffic Line is available on O2's website here. It says it's operated by Trafficmaster.

I've joined your post to the thread for Trafficmaster.

RAC Traffic Information is 01234 757074 and from there I found Norwich Union's traffic information number is the same ending 012.

As it's Trafficmaster that provides the information then it's likely that it will be a similar 01234 7570xx number. Having said that, as they're all provided by Trafficmaster, then it's going to be exactly the same information through all services.

And having said that, you might like to use one of the 01234 alternatives I've just given.

Go to the database search page and enter trafficmaster and it will come back with all relevant entries.  Wink

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but (and it was good while it lasted) it looks like these numbers have stopped working. Engaged tones across the board.

Sadly it seems that as of the last few weeks the 01234 757xxx numbers no longer work  Sad

Does anyone have any alternative non-premium numbers for traffic information?

Good Morning,

Traffic Master is now Teletrac and I would assume that they have amened all of their numbers as they also appear to have moved.

Quote:
WE HAVE MOVED & OUR NAME HAS CHANGED …

FROM Trafficmaster Ltd  at Martell House, University Way, Cranfield, MK43 0TR
TO Teletrac Navman (UK) Ltd at K1- First Floor, Kents Hill Business Park, Milton Keynes, MK7 6BZ

I will look to amend the existing list of numbers as soon as I have FULL internet access, or I will ask another Moderator if they can look at it.

I e-mailed Teletrac/TrafficMaster regarding their 1740 and 0906 numbers and received the following "interesting" reply:

Quote:
Thank you for your email

The 1740 from a mobile is charged at 59p a minute and the 0906 is charged at 59p a minute from a land line, This is the agreed cost and all network providers will be charging 59p a minute

Kind Regards

I wonder how true this actually is?!

I don't know what a 1740 number is. Is that only part of the number?

The 0906 number is not 59p. The Service Charge element can be found at http://checkit.uboss.com/
Callers also incur an Access Charge of up to 45p/min.

1740 is a mobile short code that was issued to Traffic Master in 2011, for the broadcast of Traffic Info.

Virgin Payg say they charge 35p a minute to call it.
http://store.virginmedia.com/virgin-media-mobile/pay-as-you-go/call-charges.html

The 0906 number is for landline use. (SC027) The  Service Charge is normally 65p per minute plus the appropriate access charge for this range.

I believe that special charging arrangements were agreed for these numbers.

So that '59p per minute' 0906 call is nothing of the sort.

In reality the total cost is 75p or 76p per minute from most landlines or £1.09 or £1.10 per minute from most mobiles.

Normaly yes but  as i have since added i believe special charging arrangements exist for this particular service.
