I am sorry for not being more clear. My disability affects my concentration and there is a lot of new information to take in. 'My bus is blue'. Very helpful. Thank you.

To clarify. I used the search geographical numbers facility. No match found. They have a website, and a help forum but due to the nature of my disability I can find forums difficult.

I just wonder why they offer an 0870 number as a helpline for disabled parents. And I wondered if there was a geographical number. That's all. Sorry to have been such a nuisance.

Thank you and I really apologise. I'm not really up to forums but really appreciate you looking this up for me. My bank has suggested I try this site to save some money. All the numbers I've put in for utilities and regular companies I call have come up trumps. Thanks saynoto0870.com! This will save me a lot as I'm housebound and have to make a lot of phonecalls.

Wow, I didn't know about any of this stuff. Currently paying far too much. Thanks for the links. So basically I can find a cheaper mobile deal (definitely will be doing that) and sign up to a service that gives me cheaper landline calls even when I technically keep my Virgin phoneline? Just by prefixing 18185? Will check it all out, thanks

I am not convinced that virgin is an inferia package although it won't suit everybody but I am able to ring 01/02 & 07 numbers all inclusive for a fixed fee.

I chose £40.00 per month because I only made 10 calls on the mobile and it soon hiked up my bill. Virgin/Telewest have given me a very good service for the last 5 years although I do not agree with the 0906 number for techi support.

Look at all the options and pick the package that is most beneficial to you.

This is getting way OT, but remember you don't have to drop the TV package as well as the phone; mix-and-match providers as best suits you!

In any case, you could use a VOIP provider instead; pick up a SIP-capable adapter off eBay for under £20, connect it between your phones and your current phone line, and it'll route outgoing calls via a voip service while still allowing incoming calls on your normal number. Plenty of choice in the VOIP market, and calls are often cheaper than the indirect services you can get on a BT line; most offer free UK calls 24/7. There's a thread here with more info.
