Patientline starting to charge for head sets
Oct 13th, 2007 at 9:30am

Patientline starting to charge patients £1 per headset or bring your own headset to listen to radio or television. What shame, after paying such a huge amount to view all the freeview channels, they have to pay for headsets also. The reason is infection control, cost of head set, cleaning chage ........so on.

There are benefits like those you list (hospitals have started to throw away the sets between patients, which means many people don't get a set at all and can't watch TV after 9pm) but there are other more obvious and significant reasons too
