0871 123-reg Rip-off

Hello from a newbie.

Had a lot of problems with a website and had to contact 123-reg.co.uk for tech support. The website and answer phone states calls are charged at 10p per minute. I checked my online phone bill and found that I was being charged 23p per minute.

Surely this must be totally illegal and immoral. This is a big company (Pipex subsiduary) - any suggestions what to do next. As it happens I later got through via the suggested numbers on the site here - on 2 occasions I was held in a queue for 30 mins and 40 mins - a lot of dosh for listening to Mozart.

Other line providers do not have to follow BT's charging structure but I'd have thought there'd be only about a 10% difference. Who are you with? Mobile providers are, of course, a law unto themselves.

What a rip-off!
