Empire Cinemas
Jan 23rd, 2008 at 10:46am

Hi All,

This is my first post,  Embarrassed and I was wondering if anyone in the Bishops Stortford or Hertfordshire area of England has a regional telephone number for the Empire Cinema in Bishops Stortford please?

Their national number is currently: 08714-714-714 and then you have to go through the entire list of cinemas, to select your nearest one, before you can go ahead and book, ask questions, etc. I'd really appreciate a regional or local 01279 (Bishops Stortford area code) number, is at all possible, so that I can contact them by mobile, without paying extortionate costs.

Their full address is:

Empire Cinema
Anchor Street
Bishops Stortford
Hertfordshire
CM23 3BP

Their website only offers the 0871 number, but the site is at:  http://www.empirecinemas.co.uk

Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks in advance everyone!  Smiley

I have removed all the numbers (verified and unverified) for individual Empire Cinemas as they are either not recognised or do not receive incoming calls. None ring out, they have cut them all off.

We now have an alternative for the 0871 number which asks the caller to say the name of the cinema he/she is interested in. It is 020 11340203. This is a national dialling only number, so the 020 code must be dialled even if calling from a phone with a 020 number.

It is slightly more sophisticated. If it can identify the number the call is made from it actually offers information on the cinema nearest the caller. If one wants a different cinema one has to say  "no" to this option and then say the name of the cinema (or, presumably, the town) one is interested in.

Hi - if you search for 0871 471 4714 (the non-landline number of the Empire cinema in Leicester Square, London), it gives two unverified numbers (020 7534 0828 and  020 7734 7123), neither of which work. Can anyone help track down a landline number that does work?

Good Evening Dave,

The 0871 number quoted is the 24 hr film info and booking line.

Did you wish to contact the cinema directly?

Or did you wish to book a ticket for a film?

Thanks for reporting this. I've removed the unverified entries with those 020 numbers in.

As per my posting of 13. Feb 2009 at 00:53 above, we did have a direct alternative to the 0871 number which was 020 1134 0203 but this is now for TrainTracker.

I wanted to contact the cinema to ask them a question.

Rare example of a London NDO (national dialling only) number there!

The area code must be dialled, even from within London.

Hi I'm after a direct number for Cineworld Sunderland. I have trued to contact them through there automated system and by email but both are not adequate for my queries. In fact, I have received no reply to 3 emails that have been sent.

Thanks in advance.

They are now called Empire Cinema's but you can try this link: http://www.yelp.co.uk/search?cflt=movietheaters&find_loc=Sunderland%2C+Tyne+and+...

IF it works please come back and let us know.
