Eclipse Internet...
Feb 25th, 2008 at 12:55pm

...has stopped all incoming calls to their landline extensions (01392...), apparently in the last few weeks and you now get this message no matter which number and department you dial:

"Welcome to Eclipse.  To offer you improved service, we have introduced a dedicated telephone number for our business and residential customers.
Please redial
using the following numbers:
residential - 0845 1224 111
business - 0845 1223 333"

However Eclipse have had 0845 numbers in place for a long time so this is not new, and I have been with Eclipse since before they moved to 0845 in the days when their landlines (which worked perfectly well without 0845) were the only ones in use.

What is going on?  Does anyone know or can find out the number/s for these 'new' 0845 dedicated numbers?

I note that these numbers are in the database:

* Eclipse Internet             0845 1224111       01392 333300             Technical Support (aka Eclipse Networking) Sales = 01392 333302 Customer services = 01392 333301

* Eclipse Internet             0845 1224111       01392 333333             Custome services Fax: 01392 333334

Have you tried other 01392 3333xx numbers?

I notice that Eclipse is part of Kingston Communications. The prefixes 01392 33 and 0845 122 are allocated to Affiniti (also part of Kingston Communications).

The address given on the website is Kingston's head office, so has Eclipse's operations been moved to Hull?

This booklet details the tennants of Portland House, Exeter and mentions the recent departure of "Eclipse".

Thanks very much for the replies.   Smiley

I probably didn't explain myself very well: Eclipse has always had an 0845 riding over the 01392 numbers, but it was always possible to ignore this by ringing the geographical number.  Now they've stopped connecting incoming calls (you have to redial).

You can still dial into the geographical fax number - but the others take you to the new "redial using 0845" voice message.  They won't connect you any more (even though incoming calls from Eclipse still come up from the same 01392 numbers).

So far Customer services Fax: 01392 333334 is the only one that works.

You are going to be very hard pushed to find the new numbers for Eclipse, unless they provide them to you. You could try the main KC switchboard and ask to be put through: 01482 602100

I remember Eclipse did seem at one point to share the customer service with another company sometimes (I forget what it was that caused me to discover this), as I remember getting their geographical number which seemed to be a completely different number/area.  I don't know if they still do this but will see if I can fish it out.

I think that might have been the one!

A Google of the Eclipse site for "01482" reveals a code of practice which gives 01482 602555. A Google of this number reveals it is the general KC customer services number.

Thanks very much for that - have just had a quick look through and their customer service has always been of a high standard until recently so your research about their office move kind of makes sense.

My last conversation (on 0845, unfortunately) consisted of being told the usual reasons why 0845 was of benefit of the customer.

Some new numbers have been found for Eclipse. They are listed in the database. Try them and let us know. There are two customer services and two technical support numbers, so it may be that one set is for residential and the other for business.
