Please provide some basic information. What is the 0845 number? What is the publisher's address/contact address? What is the website address? Are there other clues like geographical fax numbers???

By reference to their website
http://www.tradermediagroup.com/companies/ad-trader-regions.html

both the Kent Ad Trader and the Hants Ad Trader are at the address you quoted. However, the former has an 0845 number and the latter a geog number:
01794 835 000

Try the geog number and please let us know how you got on.

I tried the geographical number and the lady i spoke to wouldnt take an advert for Kent, and said I would have to redial the 0845 number!!!!!!!!

Will keep trying!! I have sent them an email asking for a local number and will let you know what they come up with

Actually, you can't really have it both ways, if they don't charge for the advertisments you put in, they have got to generate some money somehow.  would have thought a small fee on the 08 number would be a lot cheaper than paying for the advert. Or is  that a simplistic way of thinking?

That number is shown as being for "private adverts".

It ends 000, so I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that other direct numbers into that office follow on in the form 835001/002 etc

Indeed, Dorset and New Forest edition is also at this address and the private ads number for that is given on the page linked by lompos as 01794 835005.

Sherbert...

They never used to have an 0845 number, they always had a local geographic number...I know, I used to work there!! However, with all the phones none of the staff could dial out of the office!!!!!

Whats even more annoying is that other branches have landline numbers!! so why my area 0845?

Doesnt seem very fair to me lol!!!

Fair enough, point taken but I  still ask the question, if the ads are free and the calls to place them are free or used to be free, who pays for the paper to be printed and published and delivered? and of course your wages when you worked there? Huh
or is that ads under a certain amount are free?

They do charge for a lot of adverts now, from cars to animals etc. But yes I see your point. You can place your ads online however if someone wants to call you they have to phone a premium rate number to get through!
