Mobiles and freephone numbers

How about alternative geographical numbers when you have to use a freephone number from your mobile? Mobile companies charge for freephone calls but, using a geographical number you can call on your free minutes! Seems a bit perverse to charge for freephone calls and not charge for calls that are normally charged for. My son has a problem with his home phone and has had to phone BT using a mobile . To date it's cost him £15.00 in FREEPHONE Angry

call charges. He has 300 minutes free a month that he can't use on the calls!

I agree with all you say. It's a rip-off. The mobile telcos get paid (for ff nos) rather than paying (for geos and mobile numbers) and then they charge more!

But this has been mentioned numerous times - use the 020 dial through numbers provided here.

But finding out which of the gateways (0200 222 0700 or 0200 222 0900) works on your mobile (and then storing it in memory) can't hurt.

No of course not, its an excellent idea

I was merely responding to the OP first sentence,where he said " How about alternative geographical numbers when you have to use a freephone number from your mobile?"
