Please can you read the guide and include some more information, like their website and postal address. Which numbers no longer work and what do they say?

As per jgxenite's post, please provide more information like the number(s) which don't work and why they don't work.

The number in question is 020 73992579 which has a recording saying the Qatar Airways number has changed to the 0870 3898090. A try of nearby numbers reveals that they have simply moved the service to another contact 020 number.

Reservations is on 020 73992566 /67 /68 /69 /70 /72

The 0870 number will probably route calls through to which ever is free, hence you may find some are engaged and others are not.

Please does anyone know the geographical code of Qatar Airway Booking Office in Manchester.  I usually book on-line but if I want to contact them I have to use an 0870 number which is pricey.

Welcome to the forum. Smiley

I assume you are looking for a number for

Qatar Airways Ltd
3rd Floor
Victoria Buildings
Albert Square
1-7 Princess Street
Manchester, M2 4DF

0870 389 8090

If that is so, this is their fax number 020 7896 0019 so it is worth dialling around that number to see if you can get lucky.

Thinking you might have already looked on the database, I created my previous post.

I have since put that 0870 number into the database and there are numerous numbers there.

So perhaps looking on the database first might have been a good idea Roll Eyes

Thanks very much for that. What I did was ring what I thought was just Manchester airport which was given on the Qatar site.  Apparently this is the number one needs to enquire about flights.  Is it any good giving someone this number to go on the site for others to see?

Many thanks for your quick reply.

Oh dear I should have done that but I have a number for you to put on or how do I go about putting it on. The number for the Qatar desk at Manchester Airport is 0161 489 6020

Since I last posted about Qatar Airways over two years ago (see above), the numbers 020 7399 2566-70 and 2572 now have network redirection messages to 0870 389 8090. At the time, these did go through to the same recording as the 0870 number.

The UK contact page gives a number of addresses, including one for London (West Kensington), Heathrow and Gatwick airports and Manchester (as quoted by sherbert above).

There are telephone numbers below each for various departments. The central reservations number, 0870 389 8090, is quoted below each one as well.

The 0870 number plays music with speaking over it and it is identified as being Reservations for Qatar Airways. This same recording is played on 0161 838 5394, 5395 and 5396. It is also on 020 7341 6063, but there is a delay on this one before the momentary burst of ringing, so I believe that it is diverted elsewhere (probably Manchester). I did a check of other 0161 838 539x numbers and 020 7341 606x numbers and these are the only ones that go through to main reservations.

I have therefore listed 0161 838 5394 as the main alternative, and the others alongside in the Other Information column.

I have put a link to the Qatar Airways UK contact page in the database as it gives this and other airport numbers.

As we now have direct alternatives to the 0870 number, they are listed as the primary ones. Anyone who wishes to contact these other locations directly can look them up. If the 0870 number is given for contact, then the 0161 838 5394 number is a direct substitute.

What with the flow of information these days, I suspect that the central reservations line will be able to help with the vast majority of enquiries, including arrivals and departures. I wouldn't wish to over promote the Airport direct number when the central one is suitable as this will just tie up staff in dealing with those calls unnecessarily.

On a more general note, as you're now a member, if you've got any additions to the database, or updates to it (unverifieds that work or any listed number that doesn't work), then post them in the Requests section of the forum.  Smiley

Sherbert, where have you found this number from? Huh

Googling it gives results that give the address:

Qatar Airways
10 Conduit Street
Westminster
London
W1S 2QR

And they give telephone 020 7514 9430 and 020 7896 3636. Yet this address doesn't appear on Qatar's own contact page, so perhaps they've since moved out which means that these telephone and fax numbers are probably no good. Undecided

Dave, I found that fax number, telephone number and address on  www.192.com

The reason I ask is because you stated that the fax number for the Manchester office is a London one (020). Whilst it isn't impossible, you gave no backing to that unusual qualification and Googling suggests a link to the Conduit Street address, which from my searches leads me to suspect that this is now no longer occupied by Qatar Airways.

I have double checked Dave and that is what it states. As you say very strange. I did not pick that up as when I quote details, I copy and paste, so I do not make any typing errors.

Maybe the www.192.com entry is out of date?

Hello and welcome to SayNoTo0870.com.

Thanks for posting feedback on the number you've used. It's much appreciated and helps us improve the quality of the listings, particularly where users let us know of entries that need updating or removing.

I checked out the other numbers in the entry and found the following:
  • I noted 18 months ago in reply #9 that 020 7341 6063 went to the same menu as the 0161 number and published 0870 number. I did say at the time that I thought that it might have been diverted due to the delay before ringing, and now it just rings. I have therefore removed this from the entry.
  • 0161 838 5395 matches 5394
  • 0161 838 5396 is "The Qatar Airways Priviledge Club Line". I have been unable to find a published 08 number for this, so if anyone knows of it, please post it here and I will add it to the listings.

0870 389 8090 still goes through to the menu but the contact page now gives 0844 846 8380 which also answers with the same menu.
