I thank you for your post, but I have read this.
I have actually pposted on this site today. My name is Alex Patterson
I phoned talktalk to complain about getting calls from this number and they are denying it is them!
The most galling thing is talktalk gave me a new number months ago because I was getting pestered by the same type of phone calls, and now they are doing it themselves, or if they aren't their partners AOL are, because talktalk bought them out, and as far as I am concerned it was talktalk who gave them my number to phone.
You will probably only get anywhere by filing a formal written complaint with the Information Commissioner -
www.ico.gov.uk. If you are TPS registered then so much the better as they are already committing an additional offence that way too. Indicate to the ICO you believe the number belongs to TalkTalk. The ICO should be able to get hold of the info to prove this either way. Also file a complaint at
www.tpsonline.org.uk if you are registered with them - much quicker but less effective than complaining to the ICO.
Ofcom has already fined TalkTalk for silent calls so if you can get to the team leader of that case they might be prepared to take more interest. Ofcom also ought to be able to find out who the number belongs to.
More info on this number at
http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/08703305275 shows it is almost certainly TalkTalk. I would send an email to Ofcom's Director of Investigations about this pointing to their previous actions against TalkTalk over Silent Calls.
