Calls to the 0871 number in question are 10p/min at all times from a BT landline and more from mobiles.
Clicking the "Buy Tickets Online" button on the AFC website brings up another page which says "(C) Ticketmaster Systems" at the bottom, so it's likely that Ticketmaster now has a hand in this. Perhaps the revenue from the 0871 doesn't go to the club, but straight to Ticketmaster. The point is that this is still being charged and that is by virtue of the selection of a 0871 number.
You can try numbers in our database for Ticketmaster, but don't hang your hat on it. Ticketmaster is well known for 0870/1 numbers and operates ticket numbers for other football clubs.
