NB the source of information for the above was in most cases the YHA's own web pages, buried in the booking forms.

See for example YHA Alfriston. On the main page for the hostel:

http://www.yha.org.uk/find-accommodation/south-east-england/hostels/alfriston/in...

it only tells you the 0870 number. But click where it says "BOOK NOW", then on the next page select individual bookings and proceed to the next page, it then gives the geographical number (for calling from outside the UK).

Any remaining gaps were filled from:

http://links.open.ac.uk/yha/list.html

and in a small number of cases by searching the web for the name of the hostel with the known STD code for the area.

You can set yourself up to be notified of replies to this message. Assuming you have also checked the relevant entries in your account preferences, you should also be notified if someone sends you a PM.

I'll message the admins to see if they can get it stuck into the database. Certainly would be too much work for someone to have to add them all manually!

All the entries with 0870 numbers are now verified. Those which don't have a 0870 number aren't in the database.

Central reservations can be contacted on 01629 592708 or 0800 0181930 and when prompted, enter extension 708.

I presume all other extensions at head office can be dialled using 01629 592 + 3-digit ext number or 0800 0181930 and when prompted, enter 3-digit ext no.
