Dave, in that table why is there no tariff for 0844 numbers on the "Landline Tariffs" ?
Because, as SCV says, different 0844 numbers are charged at different rates from landlines. In the main, mobiles charge the same rate for all 0844 numbers, although Orange seems to have some exceptions.

In your tables are the 0845 numbers, e.g. in the BT part, in the same cost range as 0844?
No! That, of course, would be too simple.
From a landline all 0845 and all 0870 numbers are charged at the same rate. Some pedants will point out that BT charges a handful of 0870s at a slightly lower rate than the rest. I'm not sure what they're used for, so disregard those for now.
0844 and 0871 are charged at a variety of call rates (from BT landlines). 0844 is upto 5 pence per minute at all times and 0871 is upto 10 pence per minute at all times. As a very general rule of thumb, all landline providers charge each block of 0844 and 0871 numbers at the same rate.
In some cases, BT call rates for a particular 0844/0871 number block are different during daytime, evening and weekend periods. Virgin Media has decided only to have daytime and evening periods for non-geographical numbers, so obviously the charges won't be identical there.
