The number is 0845 736 5365 but I don't know if this will ring the branch or a call centre. If it's the branch I'll post it under alternative numbers.

It is part of Clydesdale Bank which is part of National Australia Bank. The alternative in the database still works: 0141 9517315

Yorkshire Bank - 0844 to Confirm Card Receipt

My updated Debit Card arrived today, with an 0844 848 1544 number to phone to confirm receipt - and one might assume, to activate.

I managed to get the job done via 0113 8072000. Complaining about the 0844 imposition, I was shuffled around until someone suggested I phone 0845 6025410 to lodge my complaint about "premium" numbers.

Saynoto0870 lacks this number too. Again I searched Google, and again found the http://www.phonespamfilter.co.uk site listing the number!?

See above for suggestions. Also, search the database for

yorkshire bank

as it does contain numbers for the bank.

The 0844 number might be a new one which replaced a 0845/0870 number. This doesn't mean that alternatives given aren't still valid - therefore it could be that the database needs updating with the 0844 number.

Try some numbers and report back. I can add the 0844 number if you let me know what is suitable alternative. For example, 0141 9517201 is listed as "card services".

Yep, did try under Yorkshire Bank - helpfully (as one of my favorite sites) it had the 0113 switchboard number I used.

Have just looked for [848 1544] & [602 5410] with 0844/0845/0870 prefixes - no joy.

Incidentally I complained to my local Yorkshire Bank that premium numbers might lose them customers. They told me that each complaint is recorded.
