Is the 0871 you quoted in the original post the new number? If so, then it is not in the database and it therefore needs updating.

That 020 8181 0000 is on the back of my ASDA storecard (also GE) as the Lost and Stolen cards number !  With 0871  522 5888 as the c/s number,

Do you have a URL for us to confirm this please ??  Failing that, we need to know where else you obtained this number.

Well there used to be a reduced staff there in the evening & weekends but like many call centres, things are subject to change owing to budget cuts.

It may be that there's now another Out of Hours centre 'cos it's a pretty big company.
