Argos and Homebase Card Services
Sep 7th, 2008 at 10:51am

Hi,

my first request! i have used this site a many time to make use of my phone contracts free landline usage.

Having had to call their 08456400710 to clear a balance that was about to have its 0% interest rate expire. Homebase provide a spend & save card which will depending cost of the purchase, provide a number of months interest free credit. Just making regular payments they will pay off the balance on the purchase with the longest interest free period!!! so you have to call up and say you want to make a payment and want the payment to go towards the balance with the lowest interest free period. They do send you a letter advising when a balance is about to have its interest free period expire which is nice.

Having searched the database and had a look at their website http://www.homeretailgroup.com i was unsuccessful to gain a regular contact number.

address:
Homebase card services,
Royal Avenue,
Widness,
WA88 1AL
08456400710

they also have a spend & save helpline on 08450778888, although i'm not sure what this line is for...

appreciate your help as i will be calling this line to clear certain balances in the future.

Thanks in advance.

regards
Isaac

Our database lists 01908 690333 as the switchboard for the Home Retail Group. You could try ringing it and asking to be transferred to card services. 01204 677400 is also listed as card services for Argos, so they might be able to deal with Homebase enquiries too.

Try and find out which bank runs the card services. Eg Sainsbury's is run by the Bank of Scotland, and I think Marks &  Spencer is run by The Royal Bank of Scotland. If you can find out that and then ring the bank.

A search of the database for Homebase reveals an entry as follows:

Homebase - Store Card       0870 9071039             01204 677400             Argos Card services - will deal with Homebase enquiries

This is the same geographical number suggested by jgxenite. The 0845 number is not shown in the entry, so perhaps they have switched from the above 0870 number to the 0845 6400710 one. Do you know if this is the case?

We require people to tell us when the non-geographicals (087x/084x) change, but that doesn't necessarily mean that the alternatives have changed.

Please let us know whether this works and I can add the new 0845 to the existing entry.

Have a look on the unverified numbers list where you will see various numbers for Argos Mastercard

Hi and welcome to SAYNOTO0870.COM.

Can you give some basic information, as suggested in the guide? Who gives the cashback? Is it Argos itself? Or another company? May we have its name? Huh Huh

sorry dave.
didnt read the gude before i posted. anyway ive searched the database for the number and also searched for argos. there were no numbers that matched. ive also searched the internet but to no avail, hence the e-mail.

if you use an argos mastercard credit card for purchases you gain points that go towards a voucher. they send you a voucher every three months to use in argos but to use it you have to ring above no to activate it. ive rang it once and its an automated service where you punch your data in.

as i continue to use the creditcard and get more vouchers i though id try to save money next time by trying to get hold of an 01/02 no.

Finding suitable alternatives is often a case of suck it and see.

As sherbert suggests, try the numbers we have for Argos Store Card. 01204 677400 is the main card service number, or you can try 0800 5875116 which is card activation with the option to speak to someone about any other enquiry about your card.

Most importantly, please let us know how you get on; what is a suitable alternative and what isn't, including why, so we can list any suitable alternatives for others to use.  Smiley

I've had it brought to my attention that the number 01204 677400 for Argos Card Services no longer works — it is temporarily out of order.

These were verified entries:
Argos - Store Card 0870 909 1110 0845 640 0700 01204 677400       Card services
Card Activation = 0800 5875116
Safe Receipt = 0800 0563136
0800's also have more options
Argos - Store Card 0870 907 1039 01204 677400 Card services - also for the Homebase Store Card
Also for 0870 9019048 & 0845 6400713

These were unverified entries:
argos 0845 640 0700 01204 677400 use this number to pay payments to Argos and querying your argos bill if you have an argos card. You can stay on the line to pay payments via assistant or use their automated system
Argos Card 0845 640 0701 01204 677400 This is for Credit Card Holders Services, Just ask for Card Customer Services for General Card Enquiries.
Argos financial services collections 0845 640 0703 01204 677400
Argos Card Services 0845 640 0700 0800 0563136 Argos Card Services: Customer Services
argos card 0800 0850610
Argos Card 01908 690333 Head office number for Home Retail Group, but they will put you through to Argos Card services. Took 8 minutes to answer today (29/11//2013)

Someone had tweeted that they had tried numbers listed on this site but that none worked. They have yet to post to that effect on here.

Some of the numbers above may be valid — all I've done is remove a load of potentially dead entries. If any are found to work we can always re-instate them.

Please post updates and information on the topic of Argos and Homebase card services on this thread.
