Southeastern Railway (South Eastern Railway)
Oct 1st, 2008 at 4:19pm

I just telephoned 01752 675650 as the unverified alternative number to 0845 000 2222 and got bit of a frosty reception. I did have my doubts as on the saynoto0870 listing it said Hull and south eastern  Undecided which seemed a bit unlikely but I thought I'd give it a go anyway.

The lady answering said she was Customer services for Hull trains only not South eastern and that they were getting fed up with getting calls from southeastern customers  Huh

Anyway, the only number she would give me was the 0845 number I already had and when I asked her why Hull have a geo number but not South easter I got short shrift so there you go.

Should be easy enough to get through to them wouldn't you think? There have been problems on the line I need to use tomorrow and I just wanted an update of the situation.

There is a simple reason for that and that is that Hull Trains is part of First Group and Southeastern Railway is not.

I have removed the unverified listing you referred to.

From the contact page, the address is:

London & South Eastern Railway Limited
Friars Bridge Court,
41-45 Blackfriars Road,
London
SE1 8PG

A check of 192.com reveals some entries for this and Connex South Eastern Ltd at this address. Connex used to operate this franchise, and South Eastern has kept the same address, and it looks like they operate the same geographical phone numbers.

Some numbers are:

020 7620 5000 (maybe switchboard as it ends 000)
020 7620 5522 (fax)
020 7620 5840

I suggest that numbers for this office are 020 7620 5xxx.

Please let us know how you get on and what works and what doesn't work so it will help others with the same query. There's obviously others looking at our database for this company, so we can put an entry in the database for it.

Thanks for replies and for the info above. I will give the new numbers a go and let you know what happens.

I did look at other threads on here about network rail (very helpful) and telephoned 01709 768608 as suggested on that thread. They actually answered very quickly and advised me that there were no problems on the route I was planning and suggested I call again today to make sure all ok for todays journey.

There had been problems last week with electrical faults and as I have an important Doctors appointment in Blackheath I don't want to get to station and find a bus service is in place  Sad

I will of course allow extra time to drive to hospital just in case but apt is 6:15 and rush hour traffic is reason for train journey....sorry you don't need my life history do you  Embarrassed

Thanks again, I would have replied sooner but didn't get any email alerts to say there had been a response (I'm sure I ticked the box but will double check that)

Cheers.

If you need live train updates, departure boards and timetables you can look them up on the National Rail website on your PC at www.nationalrail.co.uk. If you are out and about, go to wap.nationalrail.co.uk on your mobile. Wink

Geographical number for South Eastern trains
Reply #6 - Jul 17th, 2012 at 9:05am

I would like the number for South Easterntrains lost property.  Bizzarely Southern Trains have a geographical number found on this site but the one for SOuth Eastern no longer work

South Eastern is 06450002222 ( geographical was 0207 068 0524)

In desperation as my son had lost his travel card, I did ring the 0845 number and did mention that there was no geographical number available.  The operator agreed with me re the cost of`local numbers`!

06450002222 Undecided

Do you mean 0845 000 2222

The number 020 7068 0524 is (or was) for National Rail Enquiries Customer Relations. It is now not recognised. The entry was unverified and I have now removed it.

gosforthgirl, I have joined your thread to the existing one for Southeastern, although I think that is mentioned is perhaps superfluous as when I called the 0845 number, the automated announcement welcomed me to Southeastern Customer Services in Tonbridge (it actually mentioned the place name). Perhaps we are looking for a 01732 number.

Southeastern's website gives the address:

Southeastern
Recruitment & Training Centre
3 Priory Road
Tonbridge
Kent
TN9 2AF

Between 1996 and 2003 this was home to Connex South Eastern and 2003 to 2006 it was South Eastern Trains, the former franchise holders.

The numbers for Southeastern assisted travel are 01732 770099 and 0800 783 4524. It would appear that this 01732 number may be one on its own as 770098 is not recognised and 770088 belongs to a medical centre.

Result!

A search of Southeastern's website for 01732 using Google returns a page which gives 01732 378751 which was published due to a fault with the 0845 number. The page in question is the one with "Live running information" on and was cached two weeks ago.

This 01732 number answers in exactly the same way as the 0845 number so I have listed it in the database.

If you will pardon my language the cheeky people! I compained sometime ago about the use of 0845 numbers byt BOTH Southern and Southeastern and both of them gave me an ineffectual reply and not Southern has gone and done that..

I will be saving and letting friends know about that ASAP

Thanks

Southern also operates Gatwick Express which publishes an alternative for "overseas" use.

The other Govia rail franchise is London Midland which also has a widely known alternative, so we have alternatives for all of them.

I was aware London Midland published an alternative which I believe it advertises as for "mobile use" however as well all know it can be used on both.

I was unaware Gatwick Express listed an alternative till now.

It's excellent we now have alternatives for ALL these operators.  Smiley
