I have just rang the 01355 359007 no that I obtained from this site for Tax Credits.  When the guy answered on the other line he informed me that I was ringing from an international number. This I was aware of.  He then told me that he would take the call 'this time' but in the future, could I use the other number,  Apparently, this was backed up by some government intervention. How can they force you to use the 0845 no which I have to ring on my mobile as I am work and, obviously, costs a bomb! I told him it was disgusting and am really not impressed!

No i didn't. Can you do that on a mobile?
