You have not looked very well as there are many numbers for Sony UK. Enter sony uk into the company name box.

Try a search for Sony UK. You'll get their head office number - give that a go. Their technical support is based in Ireland so you'll have to continue your search there if you want to find an alternative number that works properly.

Hi, Thanks for the help, I just put Sony in the searchbox and got no result. I have got Sony UK head office number at Weybridge, Surrey, and have been put through to tech help via their switcboard in the past, but I got the impression that they don't like doing it. Maybe they lose money by not being able to charge me for the 0870 call. Once again, thanks and sorry for not reading the instructions properly.
Cheers, loonykev

What product are you looking for support for? Sony manufacturers a wide range of items.

I presume you are searching using the database search page rather than the one for the forums.

They don't like putting you through because then you are getting the support for free. However, if you are persistent - and you are the customer, remember - you should get put through.

Hi, Thanks for the help so far, I think what might have happened is that I tried searching before registering, and maybe didn't have full access. I think I've found the number I need - support for HDD/DVD recorders. I will try it tomorrow hopefully.
Cheers, loonykev

You don't need to register in order to search the database.

Perhaps you can share this information with us. The website has helped you locate a suitable alternative, so we ask your help in providing feedback which may help others.

So please, provide the 0870 number and the corresponding 01/02 number you have found so it can be added to the database to help others.

Hi, I don't have an 0870 number for the service that I am looking for, and the number that I do have is from this site i.e. 01656 867437 listed as help for VCR/DVD, so I presume that they can help me with advice for their HDD/DVD recorders.  If I do come across any information that should be posted here, then of course I will post it. I have had a dislike of 0870/0845 numbers for many years, and discovered this site by accident yesterday. Whoever set this site up deserves a medal, and I hope that eventually everyone will have access to the information here, then this form of legalised theft can be ended permanently. Once again, many thanks.
Cheers, loonykev (Kevin Hall)
