Their offices are based in Sunderland but I don't have an idea of the area code. I only ask as i feel the phonecall to them maybe a lengthy one and thus a costly one! regards

I called the 0870 number and was put through to an answerphone message from a man who sounds like he could be from the North East rather than the South. I thought of what the OP had said, despite the address being given as a Kingston on Thames one.

I put fsf 0191 into Google and the first hit was a newsletter on the FSF website giving 0191 5510256. Sure enough, this number is identical to calling the 0870 number!
