Fujifilm Customer Service Centre in Bedford are 08700 84314. I have just used all your geographic numbers you list to try and speak to them, and either get 'This number is not in service' or a blank nothing-ness.
All except for the last one, which DOES get me through - 01234 572293 - which then immediately says
'This number is shortly changing to 0844 5532323' !
Having just read most of the postings on BT's announcement giving free 0870 numbers, I see that we are being swindled yet again and the number NOW which is the most expensive, is this dratted 0844.
I told the person answering I don't like being ripped off like this, and his reply was "WE don't make any money, it is the phone company".....
Is this true ? I thought all companys made money, as well as the phone provider ?
I bet he does NOT pass my message on to the powers-that-be at Fuji.

They actually have on their website, their head office number and it is GEOGRAPHICAL !! It is 01234 217724. But still assume they are chaging shortly to 0844 5532323

In simple terms, the representative of FujiFilm is correct.

The money earned from the revenue share is given to the receiver's telephone company.

The question to perhaps ask next, is "why then do you use a number that causes me to pay money to your telephone company?"

The answer could be "because this number enables us to handle calls more effectively".

One could then ask "so what do you do with the money that you should be using to pay for your telephone service?".

If told that they give it charity, one could say that you would rather make your own decisions about which charities to support.

Using a call type "g6" 0844 number they were probably advised that they would also get some rebate, based on the number of calls that they receive. If they are not, then either they have been conned or they are not as successful as they expected to be at generating incoming calls.

A smart aleck first response, on being told that they make no money from the calls would be to say, "well you are not very good then, are you?". Grin

It seems that the 0870 084 13xx numbers are soon to change to the "more economical" 0844 553 23yy numbers. The 0870 numbers have 01234 alternative numbers and so do the 0844s. I have only found the 0844 alternative for the "Digital Camera support line" as yet. All others listed in the database are the 0870 equivalents (as they give the message about the number changing to 0844) which will, presumably, be shut down soon.

Sorry to have to bring this up again, but I've been trying to get hold of Fuji recently because my camera broke down and I'm getting it repaired under warranty. Most of the time when you ring they never answer and I give up after 15 minutes, but that wouldn't matter so much if it was a geographical number I was calling!

I'm trying to contact the Camera Service and Repair Centre, and the geograpical alternative posted on this site (01234 572714) just gives a message saying: 'this number has been changed to 0844 553 2323' Cry

- is there a new geographical alternative available?

Hi and welcome to SAYNOTO0870.COM.

The 0870 numbers now have recordings giving the new 0844 numbers. There is even mumbo jumbo about them being "Ofcom approved" and being "more economical for our customers". Roll Eyes

As I noted above, most of the 01234 numbers listed were prefixed with "soon to be changing to 0844…", meaning that they were (are) the underlying numbers to the 0870 numbers. They have now pulled those numbers completely, leaving them with a recording giving the new number.

The one that did not have the redirector on (and was therefore the equivalent to its respective 0844 number) was 572288 for Digital Camera support line. It's purpose has changed and it is now the "Camera Service and Repair Line", same as 0844 553 2323; the one you are looking for. Wink

Thanks very much Dave - that's very helpful. By the way, I did eventually get round the problem by calling the switchboard on 01234 217724 and asking to be put through to the Camera Service and Repair Dept. That worked - but it isn't ideal because they'll probably start to get the wind of what I'm doing and try to put a stop to it, but your number mentioned solves my problem completely!
