I have just tried this again still using VoipStunt, number 00611800613011, time 2220.

It connects,(assuming Humax as it did not say), with the message; - "Thank you for calling, your call will be answered shortly,please hold".

Then after 3 minutes another message; - "Thank you for calling,there is no one to take your call,please leave your message after the tone".

Tried this 3 times, but as it is, (if they are 11 hours ahead), 0920 in Australia, maybe they are very busy, but at least for the Aussies, it is a free call, not like the rip off 0870 number for us Brits!

Does anyone have a number for Humax customer service (0844 669 8800)?  There is a suggestion on the 'unverified' database (020 8326 6000) but that will not let you through to Service - option 2 pretends to but then tells you it won't.

Thanks for joining this to the existing thread; I searched for one before I posted but nothing came up.  Odd. 

I have tried holding for an operator and even talking to the sales people - they all say that they can't put one through.

As for their reason for having an 0844 number (that many packages don't charge), it's poppycock, of course.  the contrary is most often the case now, I would have thought - many packages don't charge for 01, 02, 03 calls (as mine does not).  To phone Humax last week cost me 40p for 4'49".

They do seem to answer emails quite quickly but their answers often consist of standard texts - like 'Do a manual channel-search; here's how' (in not-very-good-or-clear language).

On the odd occasions I have had to call them,(last year), I got them to call me back on my 0844 number, which surprisingly they did.

OK, so it's a PO Box, but does suggest that we're looking for something in St Albans. It's also worth noting that the number published by Humax itself for the public to call and that given by Humax Direct both start 0844 669. This leads me to think that these may be answered at the same place (and by the same company).

Googling the post code of the PO Box yields nothing I can see which gives any clue other than to confirm it's for Humax. However, a look-up of the registration information for the internet address humaxdirect.co.uk (known as Whois humaxdirect.co.uk) returns:

It was previously unverified and I've checked it and all three of these numbers are answered with the same IVR (menu). Options are 1. Place order or have any queries on product range before you buy 2. All other enquiries.


Maybe the 0800 019 2131 number is suitable for Humax enquiries. Perhaps someone can try it and report back.

As for a geographic alternative; we are looking for a 01727 number or numbers for this company. When we crack one, we may get to the alternative(s) for all.
