This is the first time I have used this site - I only found out about it today. My mobile phone company operator told me about it when I called to complain about being charged for 08 numbers on my mobile. I think this is great - power to the people!! I am looking for an alternative number for DWP Social Loan line in Scotland (I think it is in Inverness). I work with people who are on benefits and the only phone they can afford is a mobile that they can 'top up' when they have some money, so to try and phone these 0845 numbers is so expensive that I think this is the way they limit applications for crisis loans - by the time you can afford to phone, you are no longer in crisis as you must have money to pay for the very expensive call. If anyone can help it is much appreciated

Thanks for the quick reply - I don't know where the offices are which deal with social loans in Scotland - I have ben told that by clients that it is in Inverness. the number I have is 08456088629, but can't find the address. I will try and phone to see if they will give me another number - but I doubt it.

remember you can dial 0200 222 0700 or 0200 222 0900 and key in the 0800 when prompted, and it'll only cost you the cost of a geographic call...
