Electrical 123 is part of the Co-op and the address on its contact page is given as:

Co-operatives E-Store Limited
Registered Office:
New Century House
Manchester
M60 4ES

Co-op Electrical Shop (www.coopelectricalshop.co.uk) is another operation by Co-operatives E-Store Limited who we have a verified entry for:

Co-op Electrical Shop 0845 700 0100 0161 475 7935 Sales; if req'd, ask for transfer to Customer services Also: 0161 4757936 p/o Co-operatives E-Store Ltd

The last two digits of the number have been swapped in the Electrical 123 entry, so it might be a typo.

Try these numbers and let me know how you get on. If they work for Electrical 123, then I will amend the entry and list it as verified.

Try 0161 834 1212 which is main switchboard no for CO-OPERATIVE GROUP LTD at the "contact us" address given on the 123 site. Please let us know if it works.

On the other hand, 0161 834 1212 (main number for Co-operative Group) DOES work, but transfer to Electrical123 was difficult, since Co-op operator denied all knowledge!! Sad

Perhaps that was because "Electrical123" is just one trading name of Co-operatives E-Store Ltd. Maybe asking for the latter, the operator will know what you are referring to. Huh

Dave, Still no success!! I dialled Co-op Head Office again on 0161-834-1212, and tried asking for Co-op E-Store, she said she couldn't! But gave me 0161-829-3181 as the number to ring. Which I did, only to be told that was the number of the Managing Director (Oh, dear!) and she would ask Customer Services to ring me. I am STILL waiting (10 mins later!). It seems contacting Electrical123 is a trial for Job himself!

Do you know which managing director 829 3181 is for? Is it Co-operatives E-Store, Co-op as a whole or another part of Co-op? Or do you know the MD's name? It may be useful.

The saga continues! At great risk to my eardrum, I rang 0161-829-3181 again! It seems it is the office of the Managing Director of Co-op Electrical!! would you believe?! and NO, she could not put me thru!! She repeated that had given my full details to Customer Services (I forgot to ask for THEIR number!) and, YES, I am still waiting for THEM to ring ME! I daren't ring her again! Do you have the number of Co-op Electrical Customer Services, by any chance?! Tongue

Well it's their decision to make it so difficult to contact them. Not to mention the fact that they lie about their 0845 numbers being "local rate".

The Coop Electrical website and the Electrical 123 website contact pages both purport this falsehood, as too do the recorded messages which answers each outlet's respective 0845 number.

0845 was only ever "local rate" from BT due to the way in which its retail charges for 0845 numbers is kept low by regulation. Thus 0845 is actually a premium product, so it is totally absurd to suggest that it will be cheaper than a national call (which the use of "local rate" infers). When will these people learn! Roll Eyes

All in all, I'm in a good mind to list this number as the alternative for Coop Electrical and Electrical 123, with a note to say that it is the MD's number. If they would prefer not to receive calls from customers on it, then they can give us the 01/02 number for customer services.

Do you know which managing director 829 3181 is for? Is it Co-operatives E-Store, Co-op as a whole or another part of Co-op? Or do you know the MD's name? It may be useful.

A couple of press releases found quote one James Holland as being the MD of Co-op Electricals e.g. http://www.thenews.coop/story/1795 but not sure if that`s Co-operatives E-Store Limited or some other bit of Co-op that runs the "real" shops.
