Please Note, as I've mentioned on many occasions in the past, from 1st hand experience of having worked there, and unless it has all been changed around, the
020 8181 0000
number diverts to the call centres in Leeds, the
0113 2807080
.
Consequently you've possibly got it all
bASS ackwards and the entries should show the 0113 first and
Also the 020 8 in the additional info !!
DaveM, thanks for your input. I had, of course, given consideration to publishing the 0113 (Leeds) number as the primary number as they are based in Leeds, rather than the 020 (London) one.
However, the 0113 280 7080 number is only answered 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, as the lady who answers it at all other times points out.
I've just called the 020 8181 0000 number as well. For a number which diverts to the above 0113 number, it answers completely differently.
Callers can press 1 to report a card as lost or stolen, or hold to be told that opening hours are 8am to 9pm, Monday to Sunday. I tried this number on Sunday daytime and found that it requested a card number, yet the 0113 number was closed.
Furthermore, the 020 number is given as an international alternative for the 0871 numbers. It surely stands to reason that any number published for customer contact is likely to remain operational for that purpose and therefore be a better alternative than an unofficial one.
So all in all I'm puzzled as to why you think we should publish the 0113 number as the main number, causing customers to call it, only to find that they have to call the 020 number because the former is closed.
