So I called one of the local numbers to simply someone's details, and I was slapped with 0845 608 8582 and 8630, oh they certainly keep updating their numbers. I did a quick search but nothing obvious stuck out.

I dont even know where offices are to be honest, but if anyone has a Glasgow number for DWP income support or something, Id appreciate. It seems just calling local job centres isnt the thing to do.

If this is how difficult it is, I feel sorry for people on benefits, they must run circles!

So I dialed the 609 8582 number, for income support, and I get through to bathgate, but they only deal with the east. So now I have to hunt for the alternative for 0845 608 8698.

Very pleasant girl that time, but she found it amusing when I said, "you arent going to slap me with another 0845 number are you".. why would that be funny?

After reading your post I tried our local JSA DHSS or what ever it is I obtained a number from Google and I tried differant combinations until I found the sequence. I then rang the number and they were very abrupt "How did you get this number" they were all but shouting insults I said I had it from when I contacted them previously some months ago. They promptly slammed down the phone and instructed me to ring the 0845 number. After a few minutes I rang the next number in the sequence and I said that I wanted to speak to the JSA department they again said it was the wrong number I then said can you return me to the switch board please they did so without question. I repeated the process and they returned me to the switch board the same as the previous operator and I asked for the relevant department "IT WORKS EVERY TIME"
