Well, it isn't "lo-call" for a start. Secondly, I don't think any non-geographics should be labelled as for UK only use - you should be free to use the geographic one too. Finally, international numbers shouldn't have the "(0)" bit in them - while it is generally understood what it means, it can be confusing.

Other than that, it's good to see them at least offering a normal geographic number for people to call, but it should be given equal footing to the 0845 number.

well its a step in the correct direction.

Publishing an 0844 or 0845 number says "I am greedy and I want to make as much money out of you as I can."

publishing both a landline and a freephone says "I don't want you to be ripped off if you have free calls then take advantage of them."

The best thing is for businesses to always publish your landline and 0845 number. I have now made a positive stance not to do business with any company that doesn't give a landline number.

I refuse to deal with these companies as if that's the way they are willing to rip you off, then you shouldn't touch their products with a 10 foot barge pole. OK, I'll get off my soap box now - lol

no don't get off your soap box. lets all make a stand against these numbers. yesterday I wanted to buy something but the company only had an 0844 number. I went to their website and asked them for a geographical landline number. They said that they didn't have one. I then replied by saying that I refused to do business with them then. Surprisingly a landline number was emailed to me within minutes.

Lets all make a stand on this. I think what the Wright Foundation has done is excellent by publishing its 0845 and geographical number. The Information Commissioner has done the same thing.

Lets all make a stance to refuse to do business with companies that do not publish a geographical or freephone number.
