The unverified number listed for 0844 372 1892 is 0191 261 1571, this merely redirects to the 0844 number (my son has just tried this & had to use the 0844 number as it was urgent) so this should be removed.  It would be helpful if anyone had an alternative to the 0844 number as they have a lengthy menu & hold system, I could find no entry in the database for NUFC or Newcastle United Fottball Club.

I've removed 0191 261 1571 from the database. The 0844 number gives access to all departments through a IVR (menu) which has several layers.

The IVR also has access to the Club's shops in Monument Mall, Eldon Square and the Metro Centre and I have listed these numbers as well as they are available on directory enquiries. sherbert has listed the number for Monument Mall.

Extensions are four digits and can be reached on direct dialling in (DDI) numbers 0191 201 84xx, 85xx, 86xx and 87xx, where the last four digits are the extension number. There is also an option on the 0844 number to dial the extension number.

The 0844 number is provided by Opal Telecom and I believe that the IVR is part of that service and not on one of Club's DDI numbers.

These corporate contacts give the 0844 number followed by their extension number, rather than just giving their 0191 DDI number. It suggests to me that this is to get more and more calls through the 0844 number in order to generate revenue.  

The old switchboard number, 0191 201 8400, which is listed on BT Directory Enquiries now has a recording redirecting to the 0844 number.


Barbara, I have listed a number of departmental numbers I have found and I suggest you try these and see if they will put you through to the ticket office. If someone will put you through, see if that person will give you the extension (or DDI) number, to which they are going to put you through to.

Thanks sherbert & Dave, I wil give (or get my son to give!) these numbers a try over a period of time.   Dave, just one thing, the entries in the Premier League Club Directory are SO out of date, Kevin Keegan ceased to be manager in, I think, Autumn 2008 (my son will kill me if I've got the date wrong!) & has since received a lot of money in compensation for constructive dismissal - could give the whole sorry story, this is what happens when you have a son who, living all his life in Essex, is a fanatical NUFC supporter!
