TRANSFER TO 0871 NUMBER (Read 5,103 times)

TRANSFER TO 0871 NUMBER

Hello
The Customer Services for Interparcel is an 0871 number for which I found the geographical number (12393). When I called this number the receptionist said she would transfer me to the Customer Services number.
Can anyone tell me if she could have transferred me to the 0871 number?
I would think that it would be illegal to do so, but does anyone know if it is possible.

I think I have got yhat right and if I haven't there are others here who will correct me.

If you dial an 01/02/03 number, you will be charged at 01/02/03 costs. She could transfer you to an 09 £1.50 a number if she wanted, but you will always be charged the 01/02/03 rate.

Call charges are always as per the number you dialled. It is not physically possible for the call rate to change. When someone puts you through to another number, they make an outgoing call to that number, and thus incur any applicable charges.
