Co-operative Bank

I've been through and tidied up the entries for Co-operative Bank.

There are quite a few freephone numbers which answer with the same IVR (menu) for new and existing customer enquiries. I have removed some of these because they are all identical and I am posting them here because they are may be of use in the future. The IVR options are:
1. Apply for one of the Bank's products
2. Update on recent application
3. Existing account holder, and would like to discuss account

The numbers are: 0800 002407, 0800 028 8087, 0800 123455, 0800 169 9369, 0800 247365, 0800 346494, 0800 435893, 0800 707 6184, 0800 731 7436

Other numbers that may be useful:

Following the thread about Co-operative Bank switching from 0845 to 0844, I had a tidy-up of the entries for it.

These two previously verified numbers are now not recognised:

01695 50268 - was Lost and stolen
0800 389 0333 - was Automated card services

These answer with a message to say that the number will soon be changing to 0844 etc:

0161 474 0979
0161 474 7123
0161 477 1927
01695 558656

I was going to call the Coop Bank in Manchester but their number has gone, I rember it was the 0161 number etc etc, silly me did not save it. Cry

Anyway I have seen on the website there is a number listed as 01695 53760 so I tried calling it, no luck as it is now n.u.

I now have another number 01792 480941 Angry

Yes I know it is Swansea but beggars can't be choosers Wink

I have just tried it and it rings out but no answer Cry

See above. Previous 0161 numbers now don't work.

01695 53740 and 53760 now return as temporarily out of order from a BT line.

The number 0161 829 5860 appears to be a new suitable alternative for telephone banking.

This is the number for the branch in Swansea at 34 The Kingsway. It is given by the Co-operative Bank Branch Locator and is listed in the SayNoTo0870 database as being for that branch.

At the moment 0161 829 5860 does work so those of us with phone packages will not have to pay via the 0844 numbers of Coop and Smile. This 0161 829 5860 was not mentioned when I complained to Smile (what a name!) about the imposition of 0844 numbers.
Coop & Smile have been gradually reducing customer benefits in recent years. I am now looking to start moving our always-in-credit accounts to another bank.

Thanks for the feedback on the number. Let us know if you find it not working in the future so that it can be removed to so as to help others by preventing them from wasting their time trying it.

Say in what way it doesn't work, e.g. message redirects to 0844, always busy, not recognised.

I do feel that the entries for the Co-Operative Bank could perhaps be amended. I will have a chat with the other mod's and see what can be done.
