Hi everyone.
Having used the info here several times I have just joined this site so I could add a couple of numbers for the King's Lynn Jobcentre. Hope they are useful to someone.
Since I am unemployed at the moment, and money is very tight, I find it unforgivable that the DWP has elected to use 0845 numbers, and I have filed written complaints to that effect.
I have also sent letters to all Jobcentre/DWP offices with which I have to deal, stating that I will not call any chargeable, non-geographic number, (you can obtain pre-paid envelopes for these offices from your local jobcentre, so no stamp to buy either).
I have pasted the text of my 'standard letter' below, and I invite anyone who reads this post to use it if they so wish. All you need to do is to add your own personal details, (name, address and Nat Ins number for instance). This letter can be sent to the any user of such numbers, not just the jobcentre.

Dear Sir/Madam
Your ref:
NON-GEOGRAPHIC PHONE NUMBERS.
Following a study of recent phone bills it has come to my attention that calls made to non-geographic numbers are proving disproportionately expensive when compared, on a like-for-like basis with calls to standard numbers. Therefore, please be aware that from now on I will not make or return any calls which require me to use a chargeable non-geographic phone number.
This includes, but is not limited to numbers starting:
09 or 084 or 087
Therefore, with immediate effect, if you wish me to contact you by phone you MUST provide a geographic number, that is to say a number starting:
01 or 02
Alternatively, you are welcome to supply a ‘freephone’ number such as one starting:
0800.
Thank you for your attention.
