EDIT: Just to add I tried using the numbers already in the database but it has to be the web support number according to the customer service woman.

The website you eluded to (this is, afterall a number for an online service!) is www.fgwtickets.co.uk

I found this by Googling the 0870 number. That address automatically forwards to www.buytickets.firstgreatwestern.co.uk and its terms and conditions page states:

Quote:
The booking engine transactional pages - those with a web address prefixed by www.buytickets.firstgreatwestern.co.uk - are, meanwhile, managed by Trainline.com Limited ("Trainline") and, as such, your use of this part of the website should be in accordance with Trainline's Website Usage Policy.

So that would explain why First Group could not help you.

There is a thread running on TheTrainline.com here, although I don't think we have managed to crack that one.

Welcome to SAYNOTO0870.COM.

I have joined your posting to the existing one for First Great Western Web Sales.

It would help if you have tried some numbers if you could list them in your posting on the forum. This is to help others and that's what this website is all about.

As you can see (above), I pointed out previously that the FGW online shop is run by TheTrainline.com which explains why if you called FGW directly they may well not be able to help you.

The alternative number for TheTrainline.com we have is 01709 849452 and you might like to try that and let us know how you get on.  Smiley

Hi

thanks for the email.  I tried customer service number 01752675640 01752675653, after sales 01752835731 and switchboard 01793 499400 and was aske to ring the web booking 0844 number.

Tried train line number today but they gave me the same number.  So I don't think anyone is going to be able to help and they say its a different department/system.

Thanks for trying and will let you know if i get another number but at the moment it seems like i will have to ring the 0844 number
