NHS Care Records Service (Read 5,562 times)

carlos Newbie Offline Posts: 2	NHS Care Records Service Apr 2^nd, 2010 at 4:07am Hello all For those of us who want to opt out of the NHS summary care record, the number given is 0845 603 8510 I would really appreciate a 01xxx/02 etc type number (geographical?) instead to enable myself, and I'm sure many others, to call from a mobile. I'm wondering which body provides the telephone enquiry service for NHS Care Records Service. Huh

I have been unable to locate an address for the service yet, so if you have one, then please post it.

NHS Connecting for Health lists NHS Care Records Service among its services. Its website gives contact details for its offices.

Alternatively, NHS Direct NHS Trust operates not just the NHS Direct telephone and online services, but a number of out of hours GP services, NHS Choose & Book and others. Is NHS Care Records Service helpline also provided by it?

Unfortunately, though the letter says that you can contact your GP about opting out, my PCT tells me to call the 0845 number to opt out. There appears to be some disjointed communication in that organisation!

It's the NHS, what do you expect! Reading the "blurb" it appears that it is your GP's practice that prepares the record so presumably it's them who need to know if you want to opt out.

I was originally going to make a post about this, not specifically about an alternative number, but more about the NHS' usage of yet MORE 0845 numbers.

I personally have no issues with the CRS from the NHS.. however SHOULD I wish to opt out, yet again I am penalised by the NHS and our inept Government. Frankly these numbers should never have been set up in the 1st place. However I hope the OP and anyone else looking for the Geographic number suceeds in getting it.
